REGISTRAR
We are an accredited training practice and GP registrars spend a year or so with us to gain some experience in practice, after which time, they are qualified to practice as a GP.
Our GP Registrar at the moment is Dr Catherine Cormack. Dr Rebecca Hastings left us to take up a hospital post in February 2010, but will return as our GP Registrar for one year from August 2011. Dr Holly Dunlop will be our GP registrar from August 2010. Dr Duncan Renfrew will be our 1st Year GP Trainee for 6 months from August 2010 and Dr Patrick Mackle will hold this post for 6 months from February 2011. We are sure you will make our GP trainee very welcome.

GP Returner/GP Retainee
A GP Returner/GP Retainee is a fully qualified GP who is just spending some time with the practice in order to update skills such as I.T.,etc. Dr Ivana Safarik started on the 1st February 2007.

STUDENTS
Third, fourth and final year medical students and nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. You will be informed of their presence in advance and, if you do not wish them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.

In addition to this, we also participate in the Glasgow University 'Buddy Scheme', organised by Dr Mary Jordan. This scheme provides orientation and training in general practice for first year medical students.

CONTACTING MEMBERS OF THE PRACTICE
Members of the Practice can be contacted by telephoning 0141-644 3511 between 8.30 am – 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm – 6.00 pm from Monday to Friday. GPs and other clinical members of the Practice may not be available by telephone during surgery sessions, however, reception staff will offer advice regarding a suitable time to contact these Practice members. Messages can also be left at reception for members of the practice. Our Practice Health Visitor and District Nurses have their own telephone numbers, which are listed above.
